My 10 Must-Haves for Fall Fashions 2015

As I browse through the thick September issue of California Style magazine and blog about the current Style Week OC fashions, I noticed some clothing pieces and accessories that keep shop up through the magazine. During Labor Day weekend, I did stop by Charlotte Russe to check out their weekend sale, and I bought five times, blanket-style plaid cape, wine-colored lacy top, wine-colored off-shoulder top, tie-dye ruffled off-shoulder summery top, and long beige cardigan. I also loomed my own halter tops in different colors, using the round looms and youtube demos.

  1. Blanket-style cape ponchos. I just bought a plaid one from Charlotte Russe Labor Day Sale, but I noticed others in different prints as well as stripes. The one in this magazine is in color-block colors.
  2.  Thigh-high boots. I have an over-the-knee black boots from the nineties, which I think I received for Christmas. Mine is flat, and it has round gold rings on the outer sides of the boots. I only wear these boots during the wintertime, when it kind of gets cold here in southern California.  But I also have thigh-high socks, from the nineties era, which I think are similar to thigh-high boots.
  3. A floral jacquard dress kind of looks like a shift dress with a high collar. It also looks like an Asian design.
  4. Cross-body purse is small, and it has a small handle as well as a long strap. I have a lot of these purses from the past. It looks like a messenger-style purse, which looks like a messenger bag because of the front flap, but it is much smaller.
  5. Shoes with stacked heels and tapered heels. I am not sure if I have such shoes, but I have a lot of shoes anyway.
  6.  I also noticed lots of long vests, and some look furry. So, I am hoping the furry ones are fake fur. Long vests look good for the fall fashions layered look, with turtleneck, sweater, and even a scarf. And, I already have a couple of vests because I like wearing vests in a layered look during the fall season. But I did buy a long beige cardigan for a similar look.
  7. Lace and embroidered clothes.
  8. Vintage Preppy outfits remind me of Urban Outfitters clothes, in which I like their clothes and accessories anyway because they are fun, but I probably won’t wear vintage preppy in the same way as the runway models because they kind of look too homeless and unfashionable. I will probably wear vintage preppy outfits in a more coordinated way, making sure to at least match colors or put clothes together in a more coordinated but edgy version.
  9.  Vintage Babydoll dresses remind of Japan street scene as well as 50s and 60s clothes. It is all about bringing back the past, and wearing the pieces differently in order to modernize the same look. I am a little old to be dressing the “babydoll look,” but my version would probably entail thigh-high socks with skater skirt, and ruffled or lacy blouse. I might even add a cute hat or hair accessory to this outfit, along with a scarf. But, I think, the perfect shoes with this babydoll outfit would probably be platforms or wedges or maybe over-the-knee boots, loafers or mary-janes.
  10. Hats are popular for fall, which includes classic berets, fedoras, loomed knits, other knit store-bought hats, like my cool one from Australia/New Zealand.
